Range Rover Harman Kardon SOUND ODD PROBLEM

this is my first post so go easy

just bought an 02 RR Vouge p38 se with the sound not working its a Harman Kardon system
i saw a nokia mic from a hands free kit and found the box in pasenger side footwell removed all associated parts
the main power wires go all the way back to the sub have disconected all
still no sound
having searched this forum before i joined i took out the radio observing the sat nav 3 min rule
remover three small plugs put them in one at a time still nothing
removed the large brown one with 4 wires looked like the front speakers as i did this the speakers made a pop noise waited a few mins and put it back in didnt realise it was still on sound worked
all i left out is the middle plug (green) with a single wire which i think is a mute
there was a blue green and yellow plugs
i dont have a wiring diagramme so the best i could do to work it out


my main question is the control for the sub makes no differance from -9 to +9 and when i use the fade to rear +9 nothing comes out
and what was my no sound problem in case it happens again

Any more suggestions

I had the same problem when i removed the hands free kit fromm my car. If you pull out the head unit you will see a blue wire in the loom that has a bullet connector on it, this mutes the stereo for the hands free. I cant remember if i had to unplug it or connect it back up, but it solved the problem.

i removed all the plugs apart from the power
it now works apart from the fade to rear its silent but all speakers work
is it the amp
