Hi

I am thinking of buying a range rover bobtail. I am looking for it to me a 2 door pick up as I am going to be doing some off road trials at the awdc. I am quite new to off road driving so I don’t really know what I should look for when buying a bobtail. So if anyone could tell me what I should look at e.g chassis damage . . . . . I would be very Thankful
Also does anyone know what price range a good condition bobtail should cost me? From my research I am guessing anything under £2000 but I may be wrong.

An example of what i am looking for is the picture above

Things to look for would be the usual range rover rot in the chassis etc, check the gearbox and transfer box to make sure theres no clonking when changing gear and pulling away, check bushes, ball joints etc, nothing different from a standard range rover really, make sure the bobtail conversion hasn't been bodged.

Prices will vary depending on condition and the quality of the conversion and other modifications, you'll have to be the judge and decide what you'll want to pay for any particular vehicle, just have a good look over it before parting with your hard earned.
