Hi I've just bought a new range Rover 2012 autobiography and been very pleased with it it's a lot better than my previous Vogue SE 3.6 TD V8.
I have a couple of questions / concerns about my new car and the oil gauge after driving back from London to Solihull after buying it I thought I would check the oil! After finding how this is done I was concerned it had no oil showing so I added 1 litre at a time till it got to just over half way (2.5L) and thought all was good.
I have been over to France and back 1400 miles checked again and it showed just above minimum mark again added 2L to take it to 3/4 full.
Since then the DPF amber light came on and when checking the oil over 36 hours with the car not being moved at all the oil gauge has shown Full, 3/4, 1/2, and add 0.5l and this morning 3/4 full!
I have driven at 3000 revs for 1 hour and the DPF light has gone off!
Stopped the car at home checked oil 3/4 again engine bay was cool after the run but 30 mins after stopping the car it's very hot to touch is this normal ?
