well its been a while since the last serving of l322 offal
so here is another load
you may have noticed its hot n sticky and maybe you are wondering can i afford to put the air con on, will it work, has the gas disappeared with the angels share, will Greta fun-bag get all militant if i dare..
well sod johnny polar bear, im hot
i dared to use my air-con, and since i had a new condenser in April n a regas its still in there, and working,
but i hadn't heard that aux fan or air-con fan, you know the one at the front,
so i peered behind the curtain/ grill only to find the lecky motor was twitching like an epileptic and doing next to sweet F A.
and already knowing these are nowt like lesser cars air con that run as soon as it switched on,i thought id better look into the problem.
so a big thank you to @stustrong and @kds for your input, much appreciated.
ever the optimist i removed the slam panel n removed the fan pack, wondering can it be fixed.
yeah the lecky fan is a thing all right ,
heavy and full of witchcraft n horrible bits of faulty electricity and not repairable,
unless your names Hawking or Turing,
plan b, ordered a new used guaranteed unit for £30 delivered
gave it a clean up with tyre shine,
and Roberts your fathers brother
it works!
bonus
and its not as secretive as GCHQ anymore, i can actually hear it doing what it hadn't done for months
so i can now use the air con and burn up the atmosphere safely without causing any damage to my cars air-con system.
some say you need to remove the bumper,
nope simple job i had it all out / removed in under 15 minutes
the used part is from a petrol i believe and different part number, but as that cowl is different i swapped over the motor and used my cowl.
just be careful to stick your mits in the bumper gaps/ intakes and pull the lower cowl away from the condenser and inter-cooler, other than that, simples
heres some pics ..if it helps..

thank you for those pics i had visions of dismantling the whole front to do my one, looks way easy may just get to do it now
no worries, if it helps others keep the old girl going then that's great and no need for the main stealers either,
just one word of caution, ive taken my slam panel off twice once for the inspection and again for the replacement,
so i carefully pushed the osf headlamp very slightly towards bumper then again carefully slid the osf corner of the slam panel up.
then repeated for the other side, again very gently.
as ive done it twice, it took on this occasion 15 minutes to remove fan pack, keep us posted with the results.

electricity has been around for how many years, and LR still make it wrong:D
love the picture of kermit
we bought a kermit the frog last christmas for grandson, he calls it froggy rotten !
priceless, seeing yours, always makes me smile.
Very good! If he wants to meet the real Kermit then I'm available for autographs :D
