random beeping

i just bought a 97 range rover and i have noticed three quick beeps, then a slight pause, and three more quick beeps. there is no display showing a problem. it seemed to me that perhaps a door was ajar, but i shut all the doors tightly and the beeps continued (once every couple minutes). anyone have any ideas what might be going on?
