No you need a press and constriction die to fit them. You can make up tools to do it if you have a lathe. But not many home mechanics will have one.

Many thanks for the reply and the advice, I'd heard you can use poly bushes now which do away with the use of specialist tools, but take on board what you say, so maybe better to approach local 4x4 people. again many thanks your input appreciated.

local landy garage to me will fit bushes (for a small charge) if i take of the bits i need bushing and drop em in to em..

but they suggest only takin one arm off at a time so i will be back and forth more than i'm under the disco..

poly are easier to do but unlikely to last 15 years like original ones..

but as there easier you can change em very quickly..

Yeah you can if you butcher the old ones out. Poly bushes are crap though.

Would this be all Poly bushes or just certain makes?

Have used Poly bushes on the front control arms of my Frontera (think they were SuperPro) and they are working well, better than factory however a m8 had a no name set on his LR 90 and they didn't last

I don't think there is any way loose fit poly bushes are as good, or would outlast bonded rubber ones in a raduis arm fitment.

Many thanks for all the comments and advice as i have said much appreciated. Based on the answers not sure what to have fitted, i was looking at having a go at doing them myself as i have carried out fair amount of work on cars and trucks over the years, but now finding it bit harder due to age and health issues. based on whats been said, think maybe let the professionals do it. again thanks for the help.:):)

The worst thing I ever did to my P38 was fit poly bushes, they transform the ride to the same standard as a series three. Don`t do it, yes its easy to do( burn out the old ones and push/press the poly bush) but added to coil springs it turns the ride to sh**.
