Can anyone please tell me what the symptoms of knackered radius arm bushes are? I've got steering shake between about 30 and 50, above which it seems to settle down and practically disappear. I've had most of the bushes checked on the front end and the track rod ends have been replaced as well as the steering box tightened.

I'm thinking the the radius arm bushes might be the culprit as "sometimes" I get a knocking from the offside front which I can feel through the chassis and it seems to be right beneath the peddles, just above the radius arm rear mounting point.

Did you give the panhard bushes a check with a good lever to see if you have play? They are more often the culprit than the radius bushings when it come to wobble. Bad radius bushes tend to make the car wander but not so much wobble.

Also have a look at your wheel bearings and swivel pin pretension. And while you're at it, you might consider a new steering damper.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that the steeering damper was also renewed along with the antiroll bar bushes. The bearings are fine, so I'll check the panhard bushes at the weekend.

Thanks for the advice :)

Does the Disco have a suspension lift?
You are right that worn radius arm bushes can give a "thump/bump" that can be felt through the chassis/floor, check them for fore/aft movement with a small pinch bar/large screwdriver, if ok and no joy then...............
Have you checked the front hub swivel bearings for wear and proper adjustment. I have found a collapsed swivel bearing will cause steering shimmy, big time!
