radio in dash space?

can I fit a radio/stereo in the area where the rear wiper/ciggie lighter is?
is it deep enough? I don't mind loseing these items.

Nope, too short of space. Ye can get them things that let ye put yer radio in like this...

Go onto google and type in "defender dash" its a panel that sits above the area you mention its about 50 squids but has slot for switches and guages etc its very smart if i can find the link I will send it on

I just fitted the Defender Dash and MudPod from MUDSTUFF.CO.UK - Have you got MUD? - Land Rover Solutions using their Carling switches to control various stuff, and to mount the stereo as I didn't like the angle of the usual fitting trough.

It all looks great, however the Defender Dash console is a bit of a nightmare to fit as you have to anglegrind the existing dash to fit it - behind the ciggy facia is 3mm steel plating which took some work cutting through with my mini grinder.

The build quality of the Mud dashes are very good, and it fits nice an' solid.
