I have just aquired a land rover turbo diesel swb on an F plate I bought the vehicle for spares. the car has had the chassis number ground off no number plates no v5 or any id at all the id plate has also been removed form the pedal box.
However as the car is too good to break i was wondering if anyone had any ideas about getting the vehicle re registered.
I have put acetone on the chassis number and got all bar two of the numbers from the chassis, I know the number plate is F??? ?WR and I know the name and address of one of the former keepers but he is ex directory I have written to him but nothing back yet. The dvla dont want to know without a full reg no,

I bought a 90 turbo diesel some time ago have the log book etc but someone has ground off the VIN of the chassis vehicle is all straight and had police double check it because it raises concerns with and all is ok, but does anyone know a way of reading the number using acid or something like that so \i can double check its the original chassis

Anyone helps I have a 1.8 k series freelander for my sins!!
Just failed MOT on Emissions basically all 3 category's are through the roof any ideas what this may be I am changing the cat for a new one and will change plugs filters etc but I think a sensor may be down what is the first thing to check
Any advice would be appreciated
