has anyone got a decent guide on removal of these?
cant see what im missing as to why the rad wont come out, seems the intercooler is stopping it...and cant figure that out!!!

checked the workshop manual cant find it in there, no youtube help and nothing really else i can find online.
even a picture just pointing to X amount of bolts would help

Hi Mike. You need to remove the intercooler to remove the radiator. Have you got a copy of Rave? I did mine using that and it wasn't too bad to do. The pipe in the photo of your other thread looked more like a power steering or air con pipe, if I recall correctly the pipes on the rad and intercooler are rubber and don't have metal unions. You might like to invest in a pair of these pliers to get the pipe clips undone if you haven't already got a pair.

If you don't have air con it is easier to leave the intercooler attached to the rad. Disconnect both the intercooler hoses at the intercooler end and remove the i/c to egr one completely. Disconnect top and bottom rad hoses. Front grill off (indicators and under headlamp trims first), both horns off and the rad mounting bolts are accessible, one on each side. Now carefully lean the rad toward engine until i/c is clear then lift rad and i/c out together until you can access the two small lower hoses, an extra pair of hands makes things easier here but it is possible on your own. The book says remove the viscous fan first but there is just clearance with it in place.

from what i can tell...whatever those metal unions are connected to..thats fixed to the radiator.

Intercooler is out and free, no probs. Its the other pipes on the rads i cant get out.

right,,so its the gearbox oil cooler that appears fixed to the radiator..any idea how to separate them? can leave the gearbox cooler in, just want the rad out
