R380 ratios

Does anyone know the difference between the ratios on the 300tdi r380 gearbox vs the v8 r380?

To the untrained eye (I.e. mine) they look pretty close... Doesn't look like I'd have much trouble using a 300tdi r380 with a v8 bellhousing on a v8 engine then?

they are close, i have an input shaft and may have a bell housing if you get stuck

I've read a few of your gearbox related thread after following landyzone searches.... I dont suppose you've got any experience of the 300tdi r380 mated to a v8?

for the sake of completeness of the thread - I got an email from aschrofts to my enquiry. Dave said he can fit a disco 5th gear into my 300tdi r380, so there's no worries there it seems. phew...

just that sodding v8 r380 bell housing that I need to find now!
