Where is the internal filter located on the R380 gearbox (Suffix L)?

under layshaft in main box you cant change it without removing the rear casing

Do you think it's worth doing? And can it be done with the gearbox in situ, or does it have to be removed?

The car is 13 years old, but has only done 40,000 miles. I have a feeling the gearbox oil has never been changed.

no just change the oil maybe twice if dirty with a short run in between
