Hi. I'm trying to put 94 disco r380 into my 1995 defender 90. The hole in the selector shaft isint in the right place for the screw on the quadrant of the defender stick. Is there anyway around this? Is the selector shaft in a disco gearbox different from a defender selector shaft? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated thanks

the gearbox wont fit stick sits in a different place ,however dr evil did mod one to fit do a search

Yes, but somewhere among Dr Evil's tens of thousands of posts is a picture of a little adaptor socket that enables you to do this. If you've got access to a lathe it should be possible to make one.

i often use an r380 for either disco or defender it is only selector shaft and quadrant/yoke that needs changing ,but means a strip down to change

Ah, that's it. I wish they wouldn't write 'yolk' when they mean 'yoke'. You'd think at Ashcroft prices somebody could be bothered to read it before uploading it to the web.
