So the landrover is now starting to do my head in !

dunno when it started but i cant remember the landrover without it now but the dash is rattly to hell !

and there is quite a prominent sqeek comming from the passenger side thats really grinding me down !

the speakers arent lound enough to block it out !

any ideas what it could be or how i could resolve all this?

how easy is it to take the whole dash off clean grease and put back maybe that could help?

ANY IDEAS

and before anyone starts going on *but its a landrover defender it should rattle and squeek*

it didnt in the past and its just started so surley i can stop it?

rob.

Strip it down a bit, i.e. take the top section off, remove other bits of trim and put it back together with felt tape and foam tape between the joints and things. Back the screws off that hold it to the bulkhead and put some felt tape between the dash and the bulkhead to stop squeaks.

If something can move, it will make a noise.

any idea if you can but a new screw set for the dask because i know im missing atleast 1 screw from the grey part of the dash with the vents in that let the air in from the front flaps ?

Just get some little self tappers. B&Q even sell bags of the ones you would need, take one out and take it with you. Rip off price of £6 for a wee bag but as a project you could get all you need for about £20. Or try screwfix, but at least you can look in B&Q.

I had a rattle that drove me nuts for months and a squeak from the passenger side. After stripping the dash about 15 times and cable tieing everything I could find I was so annoyed one night that when I got out of the car I slammed the door and heard a rattle from the bonnet!!! I took the bonnet off and found the sealer that holds the frame and skin together had died so I re-sealed the bonnet then I replaced the two plastic hinge inserts (which someone had put in the wrong way up) and the rattle and squeak are now gone. The rattle sounded like it was behind the dash and I would never have guessed to check the bonnet if I hadn't slammed the door.
