Push Button Start button issues

My Freelander 2 has just started to develop starting problems. When I press the button (with the clutch pressed down) I just hear the started motor catch, then it stops. Nothing else happens so I lift and depress the clutch once more and it starts no problem.

If it packs up altogether can I bump start it as normal.

don't know about the bump starting, but if for any reason it thinks you have come off the clutch pedal, it aborts the starting attempt.

may be a clutch switch issue rather than a starter issue
