Hello all!!

I recently bought a 90 but I have a few problems with it that I need advice with!

1. The steering is bloody heavy! I am unsure if this is normal but it does have a power steering pump. any advice would be much appreciated!

2. the engine is a 2.5 diesel normally aspirated which is fine but is gutless on A roads when going up hills and I was wondering if their was anything I could do to get some more poke out of it! I have been debating getting a 200TDI engine and swapping it. I have seen some on Ebay for £200 but I am a bid unsure if they are going to run like a bad of nails. If anyone know how to get more power out of my existing beast that would be great.

Thanks all

the only way to get more power is to fit anuffer engine. Heavy steering sounds like someone has adjusted the steering box to take the play out of the steering and over done it. Assuming she has actually got power steering. Not many N/A 90's did have..

Thanks for the quick reply!!

It defo has power steering as their is a pump on the engine and their is a power steering rack in it!! How do I un-adjust the steering to make it work properly again?

The only way you can be sure of an engine is to hear it running and drive it in a vehicle, or take the word from someone you trust.

Even then, things happen and sometimes you have issues, but that's life really.

12J with LT77 - 200TDi using the same box isn't too much of a huge job to do if you have the tools/materials and can weld :)
