purchase advice please

Can anyone help please, I am new to land rover and hopefully about to make my first purchase of a range rover vogue 3.0 diesel circa 2006.
Being new to land rover vehicles would this be a wise purchase.
any comments would be gratefully received
 
I wondered how the 3.0 diesel engine compared against the tdv8.
Is it under powered for such a big car ?
Is it worth considering the sport ? supercharged ?
The car would be used mainly on the road and will be taken to the alps in the winter
My budget is around £30k
 
nice idea about the defender sadly lack time on weekends to play in the mud, may have a look at the disco's as 59 plate gs around in budget from main dealer. I do need a reliable comfortable car for business with lots of space
 
my boss has the range rover sport but bought the fecking diesal version!!!
i asked him why?
cos of the fuel economy he said
so he spends nearly 50k on a motor and is worried about fuel..
spoils the fun of having a nice motor like that if its diesal
