I've had my puma 110 12 months from new, took it back a couple of times for warranty issues;
I have reported on both occasions that the transmission/gearbox tends to complain when changin up in lower gears (clunking noise) each time was told ''this is what Defenders do, it's called transmission slap?''
Can anyone shed any light or advise please?

Thanks in advance

Not heard it called that before, but sound feasible. You need to get someone independent with experience of Defenders, as it's a question of degree.
Although it's a different gearbox, I don't see why the Puma should differ from any other Defender.

I'd go back and say "this is customer slap" as you slap him.

It should change gear nicely. Td5's do, 300Tdi's do, so why not a BRAND NEW 2009 vehicle?

sounds like they're just BS'ing you until the warranty runs out, then it'll be "oh, you need a new gearbox sir"

do the tried and tested method which gets there attention everytime

nice sunny afterrnoon when hopefully there are people in the showroom,and start expressing yr views the the salesperson on how dissapointed you are and youll never buy another landrover etc etc and im sure you may get a bit more attention from them

could understand it if it was 4 / 5 years old but not new mine is nearly 3 years old and dont get any with mine but my old 87 90 did but that is to be expected
give um some **** or go to another stealer i did when the local 1 was less than helpfull :mad:
