Evening all,
Got a few questions fer ya,

Iv been offered a pto superwinch with the driveshaft and all the usual pto goodies, the only problem being it came off a defender 110, so am i right in saying that the only parts i can really use is the winch iteself? i realise i do not need the drop-box but is it possible to cut the driveshaft to size or should i look else where?
Does anyone know how the winch driveshaft connects to gearbox?

if anyone can help me it would be appreciated,
cheers

The shafts are different I believe. The mad hat man has a series hydraulic pto for sale. I am after the pto shafts for my 110. I will buy the shafts off you if you if you would rather have the money to buy the correct shafts of a hydraulic pump.;)

is there any difference between a standard pto and a hydraulic pto? if not then i think you might ave yourself a deal.

The hydraulic pto uses pressurised oil to turn the winch.

A prop driven pto uses a prop shaft.

Series landys can also use a drive dog (a notched bolt) on the bottom pulley and a short drive shaft to power a winch.

Not much use to me to be fair, im in need of a driveshaft one. How does the driveshaft connect to the gearbox? Where should i look that wont hurt me wallet too much?

As said above - I have a Series PTO hydraulic pump with levers up for grabs if its of use to anyone. You will need summat to connect it to tho.

Don you need as mentioned a pto unit for a series gearbox , there are two possibles one goes into the rear of the transfer box in line with the mainshaft of the gearbox and drops the drive output and also makes it face towards the front of the vehicle .
The other type bolts on the bottom of the transfer box and faces forward .
both types will probably require some modification of your drive shafts as they were for a 110 set up .
You need to look for a s/h pto unit as a new even if still available for series would make your eyes water . Pretty rare items , try fleabay, and look at classifieds attatched to forums . good luck HTSH
