Hey everyone.
I have this problem with my front drive shaft. The U joints are fine and recently replaces, however i have quite the bit of slack on my spline. Moves around quite a bit in circles, or back and forth.
Are these drive shafts serviceable? Any recommendations?
Cheers,
Steve

is there a definite way of telling if it is the shafts? im unsure if it is the shafts or the gearbox/transfer box. if i put it in gear there is play.

Shouldn't be any play in the prop shaft at all whether in gear or not. My front one failed a couple of weeks ago when the sliding joint failed ... I could wobble the joint. This is the most likely failure point if it's towards the front axle side of the shaft and is usually caused by age or failure to grease regularly. New one costs around £75 and new nut & bolts about a fiver. Simple job to swap it yourself.
