hello folks

my dad has an old series 2A , been off the road for a good few years now .
I have a spare few quid these days so I'd like to fix her up for us both to use and enjoy

one of the first things might be to change the old petrol 4 cylinder to a newer more economical diesel

does anyone have any ideas on this ???

p.s I know nothing about land rovers and have an average mechanical knowledge

ie not a mechanic but can do stuff :)

Hi.
Like you i know what a spanner looks like ,,So i wouldnt be much help but :welcome2:anyway.
Enjoy the loony bin..You will find there are a LOT of very knowledgeable people on here:D:D

There are loads of posts and discussions about this all over the internet. Personally I would look at a Discovery 200Tdi engine as they are based on the same block design. Discovery 300Tdi engines are probably easier to come by but I am not a big fan of them. You could fit a 2.5N/A or even a TD, but the TDI is a much better engine.

If you are not fussed with going down the Land Rover engine route, an old Transit engine would be good, Iveco too.
