I am indeed female, and I was taken in by the fact I was trying to futureproof for kids and dog. It's definitely not pink, and doesn't have rubber band wheels! It's also an LPG, I think that's another reason why I paid over the odds. Other half is away on Army ops for next few months so I'm dealing with this on my own for now. The lads on camp have been helpful but won't touch it for fear of making it worse!

Reading all this, I actually think it's a police matter

I've asked for input on that matter from someone in Kazzle's area, i'm sure he'll be reading this very soon.

Ok Kazzle.

so the other half is away practicing shooting nasty people (he has my support!).. you're just short of giving birth and got a bit of lemon that needs sorting out..

Any of the Army guys vehicle mechanics ? That would be helpful !! A complete subframe for 3-400 would be start just needs someone to fit it.. now if you knew a bunch of guys with tools that work on landies........ hmmmmmmmmm

The alternative to the Police is a few of the army lads go and accidently break the guys kneecaps one dark night. Won't help the car but might give some satisfaction.

Or worse.. a mumsnet march on him.. or is that cruel and unusual punishment ?

I would be far more terrified of a mumsnet march than a bunch of soldiers. Other half spoke to the lads from the garage on here and there has been a massive crackdown on the lads doing favours or working on their own cars. Best they could do was double check that the garage who said the chassis was trashed weren't lying to me and agreed to do a quick check of any work I have done so that I haven't been ripped off. It seems like I've hit a brick wall with every suggestion doesn't it!?

Not yet.. There's many on here that will pitch in to give advice and help i'm sure.

Anyone suggest a good and price sensitive landy mech in the nuneaton/coventry/hinckley area for a pregnant army wife in need of help ??

Kazzle, check your PM's i've sent you a lead to a local indie for a possible on getting the work done. you can get the parts on ebay relatively cheaply.

Also with regards to SON, you should address this trading standards, it probably wont get your money back, but rogue traders need to be put out of business.

You may find this: S.O.N PRESTIGE LTD Free and instant access to Director and Shareholder details. Credit Reports online instantly. - interesting. It would appear that Mr Johal is the only director, with his wife/sister as Co Sec. Father/uncle was a previous director. (click on directors names for more details)

This shows that he has certainly 'done it before' with previous Co's - Autobrand Ltd. and a restaurant

This - : BALDEEP SINGH JOHAL director information. Free director information. shows he has already started dissolving SON Prestige.

Seems like he needs someone to go and refund his kneecaps.

Good luck.

Alastair

So if he is dissolving the business then I'm not likely to see a penny am I? I don't know how people sleep at night doing this to others...

How did you pay? Cash, Finance, cheque, Credit card? If the payment was made to the Company (a separate legal entity) then prob not much hope, but if it was to him personally then you may have an avenue for recompense.

If it was cash then perhaps the inland revenue would be interested, I very much doubt that all cash receipts would be declared. If credit card, the card supplier has a share of the responsibility.

Nope.

by the time you have a judgement and been messed around on collection he would have divested the assets and leave you with a court cost, recovery costs and a busted car.

Talk to trading standards, they have quite a bit of power and can even cease him trading.

Hate to be a harbinger of bad news, but i've been down the road of getting a judgement and a slippery **** avoiding collection.

dont let it get to you Kazzle, you have a baby on the way which is way more important !

kazzle you could try richard at "topghia" I have used him quite a bit for work and he is really down to earth and quite pragmatic. He is based out of hartshill. After using him a couple of times alot of my wifes family use him for work down there now.

If interested I can pm you his number.

That does sound excessive, but better to swap out the subframe than weld it.
That is the front subframe isn't it ?
It would be interesting to see the MOT from last time as it clearly shouldn't have passed a year ago

a two grand claim in SCC is going to cost Kazzle £115. the thing is the party has a history and has told of her of his intent to wind the company up if she claims and it seems has already started dissolving the company.

Getting a judgement is easy, it's collecting on it that's the hard part.

Once the company has been dissolved, she has a claim/judgement that is worthless and will just cost her more to try and pursue.
