anyone want to make me an offer on my land rover?? she needs the following before she will run again. i dont have the time to do it. plus having swapped the engine and transfer box not long ago, i dont want to go through it all again when going to new chassis.

it needs:
new chassis (possibly get away with just new rear crossmember)
rebuilt gearbox and transfer box
two new tyres
new wheel barrings
new battery
new shocks and springs

other than that its a good running 200tdi 1988 conversion, has disked rear and front axels, 2" lift with adjusted angle trailing arms, panhard rod and radius arms. 35" bfg mud terrain tyres 15" modular wheels. spotlights front and floodlights rear, alipine custom stereo system with subwoofer and built in amp as well as components. headunit could be updated. heavy duty steering arm and, wide angle, heavy duty propshafts.

probably spent about £8k including buying it, but obviously now she will need more spending and dont have the time or the place to do it anymore. it is looking in a sorry state and will need to be trailed away as it has no mot or tax and the transfer box is jammed up.

i would estimate £3.5k to get her back up to running with all the parts listed above.

looking for offers of £2k. once you spend the money on the mentioned bits, it will last you for at least 10 years. so a car that will last ten years for a total of £5.5k

Yes but its a 1988 and needs the following

New chassis - £1500 or new crossmember - £100

New gearbox and transfer - £300 in parts probably

Two new tyres, more likely four - £520 a set fitted for decent ones

Bearings - £70 in parts IIRC

Battery - £130 for a nice Varta one

New suspension - £300 for a good set up

Not to mention the hours of labour that would go into a chassis or crossmember swap along with the others that would need doing with the rest, then you run into complications along the way.
Gearbox needs a lot of time and specialist tools, or if you buy a recon from ashcroft you're looking at the best part of 2k

So really thats going to put off most people from offering anything above 1K IMO

It won't be worth the parts to get it right you'll never sell it on for what has to be spent on it
