oK, i havent fitted a new one, but had the old one resealed to stop a leak.. but now its full of air and only a little diesel..

I need to change my car battery too, so i'm trying to jump start it and now it wont start.. do i need to bleed the air out? and how?
thanks

i've read a couple of things.. needs a good battery to fire it up, mines poo as have to jump start every few days using a small vw golf.. so hopefully thats to blame..

the other thing i read was the FIP is shot.. not good.. I can tell its been taken off before as the security nut has a groove cut in it already...

but any other advise would be good.. how can i test the injectors easily? make sure therre getting fuel to them?

Removing/refitting FIP is tricky business. Pump timing is critical, thats why there is a special LR tool to keep the timing when you remove the FIP. I'm not sure what you can do to check the timing without Rovacom or Testbook.

Your best bet is to pm Wills or Chas on here. I think they have removed theirs and know more than most about them.

you dont need rovacom or testbook to time the pump, you need a dial gauge and a flywheel locking pin. to get the air out crack the injector nuts and wind it over till you get a good healthy squirt of diesel out of them then lock the nuts again, if you put the top back on right it will live again.
