Hi all.

I have a Range Rover p38 4.0 GEMS 1994. There was a problem with old fuse box and I bought all new fuse box AMR6405 (2014 year of manafacturing), the same as old one.

And now I have a problem - if I don't use front wiper, all is ok. But if I will enable wiper, there will be several faults:
1) Wipers won't stop until RL1 and RL8 or wiper fuse will be extracted. Also, they will stop after engine restart. But switch standart/fast speed works properly.
2) Immediately after switching wipers, ABS fault appears on dashboard and system stops
3) EAS pump also stops working, but without any faults on dashboard
4) If wipers enabled engine won't stop (until wipers reach parking position)

Also I found, that when wipers trigger is disabled, wipers tries to stop for about 1/2 second - and if trigger is enabled wipers moves constantly.

I tried do change relays RL1 and RL8 - no effect.

I heard, what there is a difference between fuse boxes of every model year - but there is the list of this difference? And for which model year designed my new fuse box? Were there any checklists about wipers or something like this? Or may be problem is not in fuse box? Thanks in advance

I think I would get RAVE open, find all earth points and then check they're all clean and tight.

only thing I can think linking the engine, wipers, ABS and EAS is the fusebox or BECM.

just because the box is new doesn't mean it is working. QA seems non-existent in the modern markets.

+1 on the bad earth. If weird things are happening, it's almost always a bad earth somewhere.
Had an old escort van once and the lights suddenly died on the motorway at 80mph (scary moment) pulled over to investigate and it wouldn't switch off. Eventually spotted an earth strap from engine to bulkhead had rusted through. As soon as I touched the loose end to the bodywork, engine stopped and lights came on.
Managed to wedge it under the battery and drove it like that until I sold it. Was a young lad then so quality repairs weren't top of my priority list!!

Yes, it was a problem with earth - the black wire in yellow connector beneath fuse box was broken inside of socket. Now wipers works fine, thanks for replies :)
