hi can anybody give me some advice please
The problem iv got is after standing overnight my car will not turn over it just clicks when I turn the key
and my headlights come on
Iv had a new battery and starting motor fitted and still the problem Carrys on
When I put my starter pack on it starts straight away and I can take the starter pack off get back in
the car turn it off and start it with no problem so I'm sure it would need to run a lot longer for the battery to charge up if the battery was flat
Thanks for any help

Well it could be any number of things including your starter and battery, it might just be a bad connection on the battery its self or a bad earth from engine to body in which case you could try a jump lead from the engine ( a metal bit) to the battery negative or the post on top of left hand front strut.

If the battery was flat and you managed to start the car with a jump, it may well restart the car immediately after. You need to put the battery on charge for an extended period.
Is it diesel or petrol? What size battery is fitted? Is the alternator charging at the correct voltage?

If that was a new battery fitted recently & you haven't flattened it by leaving the lights/something else on then likely you either have a duff battery OR a parasitic drain (something in the car is drawing more than it should or after it should have shut down).

As already asked, why were the battery & starter motor replaced?

What you are now doing is to put a very small charge into your battery which will do the battery & your alternator no good. Alternators are designed to keep a charged battery topped up & to run the vehicle electrics. If you keep asking it to charge a deeply discharged battery then you may well damage it.
That's not just my opinion: https://www.optimabatteries.com/en-...nators-are-not-designed-charge-dead-batteries
I'd also have the alternator output checked.

You need to fully charge your battery with a proper battery charger& then see if it continues to discharge when on the vehicle in which case you have some detective work.
