Hi I have just purchased a 2010 freelander and the button for the phone isn't working and not letting me conect a phone also after dark when I first start the engine the sat nave flashes about 5 times
 
You'll need to run a diagnostic on the infotainment system to identify the issue.
The Bluetooth module is quite a common failure point on this system, assuming Bluetooth phone connectivity was specified when the vehicle was ordered.
