But........

I'm having a nightmare trying to find the right size tubular glass fuses for my D reg 90!

I bought some from the local garage the other day but they are too long, went to have a look in Halfords but they only had the blade type fuses!

Any one know of any where around Dorset of Hampshire where I can get some fuses that fit? Or know of any where on the interweb?

Cheers

Get rid of the old glass fuse box and fit a blade type one. It's a piece of **** and makes some amount of difference.

Mines is a bit wonky cos I'm ****e with measurements but you get the idea. I wish I'd did it ages ago, it honestly is easy

Easy peasy lol. Go to a website called Vehicle Wiring Products and buy however many 8 blade fuse boxes you need, an assortment of the correctly rated blade fuses and a load of spade connectors (or whichever method you prefer to use, some prefer solder). Once you've got the bits its just a case of systematically snipping the old wires one fuse at a time, crimping on new connectors and sticking them on. Using the fuse diagram on the back of the cover as a reference certainly helps. You might need to cut the metal fusebox mount to make the new ones fit, I did and also cut it slightly larger so i can put my auxiliary fuse box in the space so all of the fuses are in one place

you know the glass fuses can be de soldered and new fusewire soldered in?

Funny enough did that today.....have also soldered a 20mm fuse to a blown 30mm one when desperate!

Can get the ones ya need from Halfords they just arent in obvious place, they are 30mm standards.
I know this cus bought some this afternoon to replace my bodged repair! :)

I went and asked in Halfords but all the ones they had were too long!

I get paid on Friday so I'll just add the fuse box conversion to my monthly to do list!

I think I got a batch of different amp SFE tubular glass type somewhere around here. 30+ years old.If I can find them, I will gladly post them to an
U.K. caretaker.

P.M. me.
