Am I right in saying he is gunna need a touque socket to put the head back on??

to put the head back on he deffo will - to put the rocker cover back on then no not really

a think we should have a public poll to see who's not gorra torque wench on here

ah maybe we have missed a point here - cos it appears that a touque is actually some sort of hat

**** ORF!!

You know what I mean!!

Torque socket = A torque wrench with a fookin socket on the end!

Anyway he fookin needs one before he trys to put the head back on!

Nahhh finger tight should do!!

A think you should find a mate who knows how to change a gasket to teach you! That's probably the easiest / safest way to do it. If you don't have technical mates maybe try family members? just ask around :)

he's taken some of the bolts out cant see the others but the heads not been off cos the injectors are still connected

wonder what shape the head will be if he's just undone the bolts on one side

its one of those new bannana heads sean mate ;) :)

if i were you lot i would stop giving technical advice to this lad and would be giving him a good mobile landy mechanics number as he's going to need one now

small bit of advice thou for future mechanical work...DON't TOUCH IT, CALL A MECHANIC!!

for some this is deffinitlly the only advice to give!;)

haha - already done it! I PM'd him this morning with a local landy mechanic!

that's just the rocker cover you have had off

read this and it'll say how to remove the head (it's for a 300 but it's basically the same)

300TDI cylinder head removal - LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum

you'll have to join the forum before you see the pictures

but you might want to get someone in to help cos if you carry on taking bits off without knowing what they are you'll just end up driving a Saxo

you mean this post sean mate :D

that's too technical for him to understand i would say, either that or give him idea's that he's on pimp my ride(well you did say he would end up with a saxo  :D )

thnaks for all the replies

i have took the bolts off in reverse order as per haynes book, i can use torque wrench at work if needed. i would seek help from mobile mechanic but have only just spent the £800 quid on the car, so unfortunately i am pennyless thats why i have to do it myself or scrap it in.
