Hi all
I'm new to discos but not the forum

I have a td5 2003 plate disco 2
after looking under neath her she could so do with the chassis having a good paint and getting rid of any rust under there,(no holes etc ,no welding needed thank god but even if was i am very capable of repairing it)

anyway my question is am i right in thinking the chassis is totally separate to the body i.e. body is just bolted on to the chassis?

if so how many bolts hold the body on ,apart from wiring if i undid the bolts holding the body on could i just lift the body off the chassis so i could get to give it a real good paint?

any idea how heavy the body would be? i have a electric over head crane that can lift 3 tonnes 12 metre high

thanks for any replies on this

no you cannot just lift the body off the chassis, lots of stuff you have to remove, undo to achieve that.

ah ok was worth asking lol ,just thought may be easier and much better to do it that was than to try and paint it completely from lying under the car
