Having found out on this great forum that my Td5 ES is prewired for cruise control and searching previous threads for 'know how', I now have this usefull function for 30 odd quid!. Thanks all!:)

Is there any other stuff which is prewired into the Disco 2? I was thinking of maybe fitting some spotlights? There does seem to be a few blanks on my dash in need of filling!

Cheers Richie

Got switches from local LR main dealer, who threw in the bracket which you can't buy, for free! Very impressed with dealer (Frank Ogg, Elgin). They did however try to tell me I would have to book it in with them to "turn on the function", I Knew this to be Bol**cks as I was well informed and had done my homework on this forum! Shaun this site is Landyzone mate!

I did see the same bits I'd bought for 30 odd quid from the dealer on ebay sell for 70+ quid , that makes the bracket about 40 quid!! You can get full kits with bracket for about 50 off the tinterweb, I forget the site, but thats reasonable value. But try your dealer, they get these brackets made up in their workshop in batches, they dont look hard to make yourself either!

No, it is not pre-wired for front spots, the small extra loom comes with a Spot Lamp Kit, but I have seen it for sale as a seperate item on Flea Bay.

I'm fairly sure ALL TD5's (well at least the 'face lift' ones) come pre wired for the following add-on goodies !!!

Rear parking sensors
(I fitted them myself)

Front Heated Windscreen
(I had a crack in my standard one, got a Heated one fitted by Autoglass for £30 drink, bought the switch from LR, but then had to pay them £45 to 'programme the BCU - what a rip off for 5 mins work, but still chuffed to bits, NO more ice scraping :D :D :D

Cruise Control
(fitted it myself, and wouldn't do with out :D :D )

CD Changer
(not that bothered  )

Heated Seats
(not worth it in my opinion, unless you got leather I suppose  )

I think it is possibly wired also for_ Rear A/C and Rear Personel Head Sets  but again, not that bothered at either !

Ha Ha - you can SAY that again . . i always eem to be fiddling with something.

Parking sensors are worth it, but try and aquire the parts from anywhere BUt a LR dealer, as they are pricey

It is straight forward a job, except fitting the ECU, and bleeper, which sits inside yje boot, in the RHS, below the rear brake light unit (a small louver acess panel) but you need the hands of a midget to get in to do up the nuts (no offence to any midget members intended)

The disco is not the best vehicle for judging the rear distance, especially to those stupid posts you find in car parks !!!
