yup - yu can use a ring spanner too.use the rocker shaft bolts and pivot around them to compress the spring and remove the collets. gorra be very careful not to drop a valve tho.

Has anybody heard of this tool?? Although its not actually for my landy this time but a vauxhall astra!! I've been told i can change the valve stem seals with this tool without taking the head off.But cant see anywhere where i cud buy this tool from!
Yup again, there is a tool (valve spring compressor) which functions as u describe it's been around for a long time, but as I have always taken the head off i haven't taken much interest. The tool may be specific to a type of engine but I could be wrong.
