well its just dead , never worked since I bought the vehicle , its receiving power , haven't got much further than that , tried to power up the diesel pump but it just clicked so I fitted a new one but that does the same so guessing its not that.
 
It's meant to click, I suspect it is in lock out mode it needs diag to reset it. If it has x3 failed it start it locksout.
Lockout usually cause by
1. Low battery voltage
2. Less than a 1/4 tank of fuel
 
just a reply to your predicament,mine wouldn`t start yesterday due to water in fuel filter ,i think.
but also my pre heater never worked. but when i got annoyed with the non starting ,i took it out on the pre heater with a rubber hammer,
i dont know why it just seemed a good idea at the time:rolleyes:.now my heater works perfectly.:Dafter a bit of rattling and a lot of smoke.
but it works so i am happy whith the outcome.try it you might get some satisfaction out of it:).

I have ordered the remote control gizmo, much cheaper than the Britpart one with tracker and simm card , and I don't want a tracker .

I found another thread on the internet where someone was saying the FBH only comes on when the air con is on , or on auto? Not tried this yet.

Basically if the external temperature is below 7°C and the engine is running the FBH should be running also
Plug a code read in and clear the codes and see what happens before you get involved
 
Hi , thanks for the help and all the replies. A quick update , I bought the remote control kit ,
thanks biketeacherdave , the instructions were to cut all the wires off apart from the fuel pump. Yes it worked! smoke came out and it got hot but then cut out after a minute. I removed the unit , stripped and washed out the carbon , wasn't that much, second try , same. However with the engine running it will keep going , especially when driving . So I have been enjoying very quick warm ups in the cold weather, great.
I haven't got a lap top so I haven't bought the leads, and not sure which test leads to buy?
So I suspect the water pump, I unplugged it and it made no difference although it wont start without it plugged in.
Now searching for a pump to try.
