how to guide to wire powerfold mirrors to the keyfob

Start with 1 4 pin relay

now you need to make a little wiring loom (i used 4 amp cable)
get 4 female spade connectors and i used about 30cm on average lengths

now place the relay just at the side of the fusebox feed 3 wires down 1 wire up
wires down are
pin 30 earth
pin 86 superlock (brown pink trace)
pin 85 unlock (orange)
wire to go up is
pin 87 Mirror switch (blueblack)

on the wire connected to pin 30(earth) i crimped on a ring connector
and bolted it to the earth behind the kick panel on the Drivers side footwell

now join the pin wires 86 & 85 to the wire colours listed above
(please note the connection in photo was temp as i thought i had a fault somewhere but was the only picture i took

once done these should now work on your keyfob BUT if you have to double lock your car by pressing button 2 times or you have single point entry enabled you need to change the settings using diagnostic equipment as you can see mine was set to off so when i turned it on it now works on a single press for unlock and double lock

hoping i have not missed anything and hope you guys can use this to help you complete this job

Decided to do the auto fold mod. this morning and it works a treat !!! :D:D

Well done for taking the time and effort to sort this welcome change to the fold function out.
I used a minature 16 amp 4 pin (Normally open) relay mounted on an angle bracket-the ones found in any DIY or hardware shop-the relay was attached to the bracket with superglue and a tie wrap for good measure. The bracket was then attached to the frame which the passenger compartment fusebox is mounted, I used the bottom l.h. mounting bolt which also doubles up as a ground supply.
I will try and upload a picture later.
Cheers Guys.....:clap2::clap2:

:praise::praise:

One question, I didn't see from your post what pin did what on the Relay? which pins were contacts and which pins were relay coil?
Do you have a circuit diagram?

Cheers...

acpin 87 Mirror switch (blueblk))(quote)

hi there as iv just got my mirrors done.
can i ask a few questions.
pin 86/85 are these wire running from the door or in the loom by the fuse box.
and pin 87 Mirror switch (blueblk) dose this come from the mirror switch.
many thanks
james

The relay coil (85 & 86) can go across either door lock motor. Pin 30 goes to ground. Pin 87 goes to the blue/black behind the switch.

will this work on a 2004 td4 facelift with power mirrors as well ?
Yes all Freelanders used the same fold ECU.

Does anyone know if the Britpart Lynx system can be used as the diagnostics, to change it from single point entry?

Or instead of having them fold on the lock/unlock what about ignition on and ignition off?

Love the write up on this :)

Thanks

cheers peeps just trying to give something bk to the owners who have advised me along the way
Hi,I know this is a long shot and it was years ago,but do you remember the wiring from the relay,I know one goes to switch, one for the ground but I'm confused as to where other 2 go as would like to try this
