power steering removal

Hi - stupid question really but I'm about to remove the power steering box and pipes from me old chassis before yanking out me engine for reinstatement on me new chassis.

do you just remove the lid of the reservoir and disconnect a pipe as low down as you can and drain into a bucket? Theres nowt in the books that doesn't involve having the engine running. and mine doesn't.

no damage will come to the box / pump internals whilst they sit in my garage waiting on me to get round to re-fitting em (like rust or other corrosion)? Or should I move them over filled with fluid using clamps on me flexible hoses?

I only ask this as my time on Edith is in fits and starts and I'm next to the sea with its salty air.

Thanks

I took all mine off at once pump, reservoir, box and pipes to save the hassle of draining, keeping ****e out of it and bleeding it all when I put it back on. Thing is cos I like to get every last bit of ****e and rust of things an then paint em, I was cleaning the box up and turned it over, it's weight got the better of me an one of the ferkin pipe kinked an ferked up bleedin bollox.
