power steering play

hi guys pretty sure this question would of been asked before, but i need some info on power steering play and adjustment, the steering wheel arm from power steering box into the cab has play, iv checked out uv joint and all is fine, i have been told how to adjust the power steering and have screwed in the adjusting screw on top of the power steering pump down by half a turn with slight improvment, but as iv been warned not to screw the adjusting screw down to much,im concerned that by tampering with it any more it may bugger up the power steering box. is it safe just to keep screwing it down until all play is gone, i may of already answered that question myself, but not feeling the need to go tampering with it too much, and and up enduring the cost of a new power steering pump.

you must first set steering box in the center either by counting turns and putting in middle or using pin through rear of drop arm into box ,then adjust free play out while rocking input linkage by hand,must be done with box central as this is where the 2 shafts are closest even with no freeplay in center as turned to either lock freeplay increases so would be over tight going through center if adjusted either side

cool so i can damage power steering box unless i over adjust it,

youd have to really tighten it to bust it ,if you over tighten it first thing youll loose is self steering
