power steering pipe

i have a 54 plate hse f/lift and have notice i have a oval shaped power
steering pipe is this normal and will it make the steering heavy

Normal - it’s to dampen the fluid to remove noise.

My td4 and my sons 1.8 are the same

They are all like it, even when new out the packaging. It's designed to damp out hydraulic noise as td4van said.
