Well @gemsdad , not sure why, But If you stand in the front of my D2, facing the engine, I hit the spanner anticlockwise to undo the bolt. wonder why you have to hit yours clockwise???

Cheers

Why not just buy the correct tools, only cost about £15 for the two, makes life so much easier.

cheapest i can find is 20plus postage...plus..wouldnt get it till at least friday, and i only need to remove so access to other parts which i would then need to order...so

but...

hitting flat on the face twice, rotate to next side, hit twice repeat...did this for about 4 sides..and it came right loose! i turned Anti clockwise when facing into the engine bay...

didnt help me out after all that thought..seems the suspect part is under the radiator/intercooler

Now I need to figure out how to remove the radiator...problem I have..can't find the hole in the power steering leak....so...with rad removed...I can't really run the engine to find the leak as that's when it starts leaking once pump kicks in.

The power steering pipes that run along the front crossmember, under the radiator, get all the weather on them,so they rust out as mine did, once you get the rad out you will see the problem.

there rotten!!! :(
and at £130 quid not a cheap bit of pipe!!
Just still need to get the rad out, cant seem to find out how to seperate the gear box cooler from the rad

There are two pipes you know.
yeah just seen ive been eyeing up the pipes for a LHD vehicle...which i believe are different set up pipes.

cheapest i can find is £130 inc vat...can claim the VAT back so not as bad :(

recon this is the cause...of my leak...haha

Yes those pipes are exactly the same as mine were, try a hydraulic pipe specialist for your new pipes, probably be a lot cheaper,i used able hydraulics when i needed some pipes making up,where abouts in Liverpool do you live?

i do plaster moulds, mainly resotration work etc
www.plaster-mouldings.com

ill speak to a couple of firms, theres a hydraulic place opposite my workshop actually.....not sure if going with a made part might be a nightmare to fit over standard pert though
as long as you take the original part in as a pattern, they will easily make some up,that is what they do,plaster mouldings hey,my mate used to do that, many years ago.
