or is that what the scrap dealer describes it as before it is melted down ? ha..:cool:

(All engines are 'lumps') it is a 'technical term' - I am still convinced there are only two types of K series engines, one that has failed, and one that is about to lol ;)

I had to search google to find out what a 'pokemon' was lol :) now I understand haha. I presume it is the sort of app 'thing' that K series owners use whilst waiting at the side of the road for the tow truck:oops:

Here we get full recovery etc (a darn good one too!) with the insurance (Seguro) ... and Frank Buck for glass cover (Interestingly ALL glass - seemed to be windscreen only in UK ?) as the Panda has a lovely crack half way up the front screen on the passenger side due to a small stone from a hedge trimmer.... (Hmmmm.... ponder///....Wonder if I can get a heated front screen for the freeby... - just a small tap with an ice pick lol ) o_O:D
 
Lol Tony - So, you actually changed the lump to a VVC version ? - what is the actual difference in the lump (apart from VVC of course) ?
A k series that is actually running is a rather good engine.

Differences between the standard K and the VVC are as follows:
Pistons.
Rods.
Bearings.
Timing belts
Timing sprockets.
Crank pulley.
The head casting and all the VVC gubbins.
The valves.
The inlet manifold.
The injectors.
The ECU.
The spark plugs.
The coils.
Exhaust manifold.
I think that's about it.
The head and other bits were so expensive to make that Rover developed a turbo K to keep costs down.

Absolutely. It's actually 110Kgs but that includes the gearbox, flywheel and all ancillaries. The VVC is a brilliant engine with a good power to weight ratio too.
