Hello all,

Just a quick question I have just had a very lucky find. set of power fold mirrors,

I have the wiring looms for the doors and the switch for the dash.

This is to go into a 99 freelander so I was wondering if anyone knows if there is anything else I need before I start this???

Is it just plug and play or rewiring??

Any help or info would be great!! :D

Many thanks.....

If you fit the correct loom, mirrors with motors etc, then at a guess it should work.

Hi Hippo,

Thanks that was what i am hoping, but not sure if they needed there own ECU?

Not sure if the mirror computer will be fitted to yours. You’ll need to look on the transmission tunnel by the gear stick to see. The computer would be used to auto fold the mirrors when locking the car (or whenever the auto mode does it) if it’s enabled.

From the rave disk:

Folding Door Mirror ECU (Some Markets)
In some markets folding door mirrors are installed and these are controlled by the folding door mirror ECU. The folding door mirror ECU is installed on the transmission tunnel, below the center console.

Hi Smiley32, have you had any joy with this?
I too was considering this as I've just had a mirror broke on my 98 5 door.

Current mirrors are non folding.

Alternatively, does anyone know if I could fit standard manual folding mirrors in place of the static ones?
Thanks.

Stuart

Hippo, I have a 52-plate with folding mirrors, is the auto-fold on locking a function that can be set-up via T4 if I have the mirror ECU fitted?
