Just a quick one,

Is the switch used on the power fold mirrors backlite?

Can't make my mind up whether is should or shouldn't be, don't ever recall it being lite or has it stopped working......I don't know I'm confused.

coincidence, I was going to ask the same question , mine doesn't light up either !

cheers guys, saved me forking out on a new switch ! :)

Mine does not illuminate either.
I recently had a problem with all my switch illumination, some switches were lit and the majority of them were not, including the heater switches.
This was due to a header behind the centre console being fitted the wrong way. After correcting this my power fold mirror switch still did not have a back light.
I can only asume that this is not suposed to be!!!

Nope, definitely not backlit, so rest easy.

I find all my instrument lights very dim, and shame theres no adjustment. Of course with age me eyesights **** poor anyway at short distance, but would like a bit more brightness on the instruments.

No doubt JLR had a reason for the poor lighting - and before it's said, no its not so you cant see how poor the inside of a Freelander is.
