Hello all snd good evening ladies and gents.
I'm looking for a bit of advice on possible Freelander ownership.
Bit of car history if you'll indulge me, 2 Alfa Romeo 156's, Alfa 159 2.4 diesel, Mitisbushi Legnum VR4, Toyota MR2 mk1, Seat Ibiza, Astra estate and now pottering around the Isle of Wight in a 2004 Rover 25.

I looking to change up the Rover for a larger family wagon for myself, the fiancée and our 16 month daughter and have been looking at the usual Renault Scenic and generic MPV type cars, but local to us a freelander popped up for sale, not really thought about one before but still interested as a bit different to the run of the mill things we've had on our list.

My question is though on our budget of around £2000 plus sale or part exchange of the Rover (I've been offered £600 against a Renault Scenic today so using that as a base) is a facelift Freelander in our price range? Or is it going to turn out to be a lemon by the time it comes to its next MOT?
From the quick look comparing spec levels and liking the facelift look over the earlier models I would want a SE spec, TD4 manual.

Any advice, do's and don't, yes no maybe are welcome.

I'm off to read and hunt through the forum for a bit.

Thanks Simon
