I didnt realise there was a prob with either top or bottom posting until
someone made a fuss about it. Would have been nice if they were polite tho.

silly sod. Mind, it happens, that's how we ended up with "hooter" as a
synonym for "bugger". someone did ubggre, and someone else rotted it to
hotter, and someone else else misread that as hooter.

Hooter is rather good though. handy for use in polite company, along with
penc, and can readily be interpreted from context without being obviously
rood.

e.g. "Some hooter has filled the back of me land rover with penc"

Yeah, sadly... From the cut directly into the thrust you could say.

For what its worth, my worthless, off topic replies were all started by
someone else who got the arse about it all. I am as much ****ed off as
anyone about all this ****. This was a good newsgroup in the past. I have
helped people with questions regarding their Land Rovers and like wise I
have had help from people with problems with my Discovery and 90. Shame.

I'm sure that i've seen a picture somewhere of a boat using a
landrover roof as a cabin.
What you need is a 101 with a knackered chassis and a tatty narrowboat
with a sound hull.. :)

The first post you made in this thread was:

Which I believe, and I mention in a non-confrontational manner,
directly contradicts your statement above.

>I am as much ****ed off as anyone about all this ****.

I am therefore at a loss to understand why you thought it appropriate
to drag it all up again - unless it was (originally) meant as a
'lighthearted jovial quip', in which case it has been misinterpreted,
sadly.

>This was a good newsgroup in the past.

Implying that it isn't now?

>I have helped people with questions regarding their Land Rovers

A couple of things spring to mind;

Firstly, you're in need of 'getting out more' if you take a little
newsgroup like this seriously - life has more, much more to offer.

Secondly, contributions are ALL valid, some help intentionally, others
hinder unintentionally, all are of equal value in the great bitbucket
above.

Finally, you're now apparently posting correctly, and I doubt anyone
will mind if you continue to do so.

You see, this is all a tiny piece of the interweb, tucked away from
normality in the Western spiral arm of the Galaxy, nobody really
cares, we all seek shares in an oil refinery, and we all make
mishtakes. Nobody died, live with it, be happy.

including Richard Branson who said recently that he was going to build a
virgin oil refinery, or something. perhaps we could all offer to buy shares
in it provided he pledges to produce cheap fuel for our landies?
