is there a disk ou update for my p38 nav to do postcode search

If it's the Carin yes there is, but it costs a blood fortune. I have never seen one that has been ripped for sale.

where do i look

Ebay. Look for Teleatlas. Or VDO Dayton then check it's for your Carin model.

What year is your car and which sat nav have you got? Mk2 Mk3 ? if Mk3 then you can get a rip off cd that has limited post codes but not the full post code just 5 didgets ie IM4 7 instead of IM4 7HB you have to go the information and several other menus to find it.

The next version of the Range Rover started with Mk3s but later Mk4 which was a DVD version and that has full post codes as standard. The system then changed to a Denso unit DVD which you should avoide buying as its a totaly different operating system

its a carin system in a 2001 vogue
