Post-2001 rear door on pre-2001?

My rear door is on its way out, and I was wandering if this would be a viable upgrade?... otherwise it will be replaced with the same again... and possibly a swingaway spare carrier

What's the difference on the post 2001 door? Is it not much the same design?

After 2001 they made the rear door in one piece, supposedly stronger, and the window has the rubber surround.
I notice that the swingaway wheel carriers specify pre and post 2001, so I wasnt sure if this related to the door itself having changed, or if they had modified the aperture and hinge arrangements... and latch?

Doors are interchangeable. Latch and hinge positions are the same.

Later door is a one-piece pressed steel affair. So no electrolytic corrosion (though technically more rust-prone) and a lot stronger. The wheel carrier is a different design, so the after-market ones differ to pick up on the different mount points on the door frame I believe.
