OK its that time of year and for whatever reason (frankly tired of the endless waste of money trying to fix it), the Disco 300tdi just hates starting in the sub zero
I end up having to charge a spare battery and using that to jump start it.
Clearly not an ideal solution for my wife when I am away

Anyone used one of these ?
Amazon product

Any good?

I wouldn't rely on a powerpack ..

On my Disco I changed the leak-off pipes, the battery and the starter and all worked fine. You do need to keep a Disco battery in good fettle, similarly the starter, especially if like I did, you go laning or off-roading and then let it stand for a fortnight or so. It never didn't start, but was a right struggle some days through winter. I used a Ctek charger with it's plug on so it was easy to hook up to the charger.

Just had a new starter fitted, which has made a massive difference. I may have to resign myself to charging the battery once a week on a sunday night when its near 0c
