When I'm driving my 2.5 v6 keeps making a popping sound garage carnt find any reason y it's making that sound any help appreciate

Seen lots of threads go through the Freelander section, but never one about a vehicle's flatulence!
Others may have an idea of what the noise is, but a video of the sounds being made might help. If you can put 1 up on YouTube you can link to it or embed as media in a post on here.

Possibly the vis valves in the inlet manifold
It's impossible to know what the problem is with so little information.
However if the garage you went to can't fix it, the find a better garage, one that knows about Freelander's.

I notice it when it's been warm outside. All through the summer it was making it. When a cold day it doesn't happen.

I've tried recording it but it isn't loud enough for my phone to pick it up.

Is it random or only when driving in reverse, when the lights are on or if you run over an angry dwarf with a hammer etc. We're going to need some help on this one.

If I parked it up , n the sun was shining on it all day. I would go to use it and the popping sound would happen. I thought it was the coolant expansion tank it had little fractures on the top of it. Got that changed no air in the system. I thought that's wat it was but it is still happening.

It only happens when driving it..... It hasn't happened so much since the weather has cooled down this is what I carnt understand.
