Hi Guys,

My wifes Freelander is due for an MOT next month and I've been going through the obvious things to make sure they are working. The first thing on my list is the windscreen washers. Their performance is very poor and are barely getting the water to the windscreen.
I've replaced the jets and replaced the pump but they are still very poor. My next job is to try replacing the tubing (already checked it for damage or crimping), but short of that is there anything else to look for?
Are all freelander washers crap and I'm wasting my time?

Mine too were very poor but the cause on mine was a cracked tee peice, the water was dropping into the oil cap area everytime i pressed the washer stalk, bypassed this and there great now

Mine are also good - Although only hit halfway up the screen.

Not sure how easily it comes out, but perhaps there is an obstruction where the tubing feeds from the bottle.

i blew mine out with the air line and they are very strong

Now that's a good idea.. hadn't thought of trying that.

Also, anyone know the size of the tubing? Looks like 8mm or there abouts.. can't seem to find it to buy anywhere.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

Halfrauds sell it.

Before doing anything drastic just open the hood and press the contact for the washers, check for leaks at the T-pieces (see skoda169 input), if they leak you can just take the tubes off and bypass, can't remember exactly how I did it in the past but is a piece of cake and selfexplaining when you see the construction in front of you. At no cost this is. If no leaks you can still do that blowjob......:D:D:D

if its like any other washer pump ive done the rubber seal it fits into acts as a filter and can clog up,just remove and clean

Dougden all you need to do to adjust your washers is get a needle in put it into the tiny hole on the jets and then you can move it about for the best place do not have it too high or it just goes over the top of your car and washes other cars behind but do not have it to low as remeber if you want to wash the screen at 70mph the wind will force the water down a bityou want it to hit you screen when standing still in the middle hope ths helps
