Erm, perhaps if you'd said "ok, just wanted to ask, stay safe and don't take any risks, have a good evening" instead of telling her to **** herself then next time she might actually accept help from a 4x4 driver. Not being funny and I'm sure your intentions were 100% totally honourable but you can kinda see why a (presumably) lone frightened female might not want to willingly attach herself and her car to that of a total stranger out in the snow "offering assistance" who then has the ability to drag her and her car off to wherever they might want to.

We know you were only trying to do the right thing but a bit of empathy goes a long way you know...

Blocking a retail park in broad daylight I was hardly going to drag her on a petrol forecourt with bystanders and attack her
 
We know that. But no need to swear at her and then tell everyone on a forum about it. I agree, there are a lot of dumbasses out there at the moment, but swearing at a woman ain't cool. Anyway, moving on.
