Inlet is in upper part of N/S inner wing. Behind plastic stone guard. It's the place water leaks in if you wade too deeply. :D

Fortunately the petrol has some danglies bits in the intake to catch anything sneaking in. The diesel doesn't, although my air filter caught it all last time I was naughty. Guessing Dopey's did too as his survived.

Wading in an Astra!?! :D:eek::D

Been through some pretty deep stuff in P38. Apart from it throws it all up over the engine I was surprised how it didn’t phase it. Didn’t ingest anything into air intake, nothing came through doors, unlike a 90 that fills to the dash. There is a lot of drag when the water catches the body but plenty of torque to overcome it

It wasn't that deep but it had a skirt around the front and the intake behind the skirt, a bit like a hovercraft on reverse, so as soon as the bottom of the skirt sealed against the water it was like a giant vacuum cleaner. Not a good design. The Scirocco Storm was the same. Storm: bloody stupid name for a car you cannot drive in the wet.
